| | | A beginners guide.... Hi,
does anyone know of any really good guides to British fungi for beginners? I am in need of one so I don't have to post every single picture on WAB and so I can do some work and not leave it all to you

| | | Re: A beginners guide.... while i still consider myself a beginner, i find the usual beginners books on fungi a bit to limited in the range they show, but have found both "mushrooms" by roger phillips and "the encyclopedia of fungi" by michael jordan much more comprhensive and usefull even for a beginner, even if they do cost a little more than other books,

Brian . | But not exactly handy size for out and about in the field, Brian - a good option, with which I started out, was Phillps and a pocket field guide.

| | | Re: A beginners guide.... It is a good book indeed, but as David says, it's definitely not a field guide, unless you plan to take a rucksack with you (which I generally do) and even if you plan to do that, it's a heavy book |
