| | | Two more from Darwin Forest I went off piste for this one, the brambles and wet going made life difficult but it was worth it. Could it be Pholiota flammans?
I thought honey fungus for this one but I don`t know... gill attachment doesn`t look right.
Comments very welcome

Nick | Thanks Nick, the P. flammans was a little beaut. Re T. rutilans; I`ve had a look at a number of pics in books and on line and I don`t think I would have nailed it from my picture.

| | | Re: Two more from Darwin Forest Well it's a rather typical looking one so I don't know why not. What literature are you referring to? |

| | | Re: Two more from Darwin Forest I'm impressed Pete got the (reasonably) difficult one, but not the easy peasy one (well, the yellow gills had faded a bit I suppose)

| | | Re: Two more from Darwin Forest I think Pholiota flammans is on the up- I've recorded it twice in a month. Do you stumble upon it much Neil? |

| | | Re: Two more from Darwin Forest Not for a few years now Nick, probably cos I seldom seem to go in 100% conifer woods as much as I used to, now.

| | | Re: Two more from Darwin Forest Oops, sorry Nick, didn't see this question - just feel mentally exhausted, so have got behind with the WAB.
I don't go to pure pine woods these days so much probably because I just prefer to see mixed woods - more variety.
Yet strangely, one of our members suggested Tunstall Forest (Sandgalls Picnic Site) on the Sandlings last year and that produced our best count for the year.
