| | | Unidentified slimy capped mushroom from Clumber Ahelloooo
This is one from Clumber park- apologies for the photographs, they're not ideal but it was getting pretty dark when I found it. I thought I'd pick it so I could take it home. These photos were taken in the B&B room
It was growing solitary in grass near(ish) Birch and Oak. No distinctive smell (though it got nasty after 2 days ) That cap is chocolate brown. The ring is the most odd thing about this. I've never seen a ring that is a) As pleated in appearance as this one and b) running along the top of the stipe to meet the gills. Note the dentate to serrate lamellar edge in the gill shot.
Here's what it looked like under t'scope. There's one basidium to the left, but I couldn't see whether it was 2 spored or 4 spored no matter how much racking was involved.
All help and comments appreciated
Nick

| | | Re: Unidentified slimy capped mushroom from Clumber Sorry to take you off thread Nick - but I believe you are a fellow Mac user and I was curious how you are getting shots from your new microscope onto the Mac?
I've also gone microscopic and went down the minicam (a small cctv) route but it only works with PC's so I had to borrow the works laptop rather than using my Mac. 1st attempt at imaging spores
