the saturday and sunday are easily done. I'm not sure about the Friday because its a college day. I get one day off a week. This year its a tuesday - but next September it might be a Friday so just put vacancy on the Friday for me

yeah I'll be there on the Saturday and Sunday definitely. approximately what times would I need to be planning to get the station closest to Clumber? I don't want to have to spend Saturday on the train while everyone finds rare species

How far away are you KT? Everyone will presumably be waiting at Base Camp at 9.30am

Worksop station is about an hours walk away from Clumber Park .. No practical bus route but they do have taxis!

Nearer the time, if you know what time you will arrive, I'm sure someone may offer to pick you up ... for a price

In Lancashire - about 108ish miles. I was offered a lift to Clumber from the nearest train station (which I will look into and times closer to October) so I would be relying on that most.

oh it seems FJ has worked it out for me! Ill pay for any petrol expenses. They would probably need a big sign saying my name!

Hi KT, im not sure about which train route you will be coming by, but if, as i would think given your location, you will be arriving from the west coast route, you will be coming via Sheffield , where no doubt you wil have to change trains and travel to Worksop,(then 10-15 mins to clumber by car)

if by some chance you are coming on the east coast mainline, you would need to change at Retford and either go to Worksop by train and then to Clumber or directly from Retford to Clumber (about 15/20mins by car)

there used to be a bus service to Clumber, but it was a bit infrequent and i am not sure if it still runs,
