| | | Ground Fungi Identification Hello all
Not the best picture to ask you all to ID for me, not very clear nor it there a stem, but would you comment as to what you think it is.
Found on a grassing patch below trees just on the edge of woodlands, at the begining of September.
Thanks |

| | | Re: Ground Fungi Identification YOu couldn't even begin to think what it could be on a photo like that (not digging at your photograph-) you need to include gill and stem shots to increase your ID chances.
Off of the top of my head, I'd say it was Paxillus involutus, but that's a pretty blurred guess. |

| | | Re: Ground Fungi Identification Thanks Nick
Any tips are helpful, I suppose I could use a small mirror to see gills. I've even returned to the place to get a better photo but there was no trace of the mushrooms.
I have a lot to learn about fungi. |

| | | Re: Ground Fungi Identification A good thing to learn is that to get familiar with them you must handle them. Don't be afraid to pull it from the ground- as long as you do it carefully, you'll not harm the chances of it re-fruiting in the future. It's like picking fruit. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
