| |  Geastrum triplex?
I came across this whilst walking with my girlfriend in mixed woodland in Somerset at the weekend. Would you guys say it was Geastrum triplex, the Collared Earthstar, or am I way off?  
Is it possible that the points of the "star" has been nibbled away?
I was very pleased to stumble across it, it was a fascinating thing to behold. |

certainly in the right area with Geastrum and hopefully that is the collar we can see, yes they do suffer from slug nibbling.

Slugs!! - slugs are a nightmare, try finding a nice prestine Russula to photograph that hasn't been dined on
