| | | Re: BeechWood fungi.. I've just got back from a trip up to the Norfolk Broads to attend a Fungi workshop at Wheatfen Broad (Ted Ellis Reserve) fighting my way through flooded country lanes on my trusty little C90, only to find no one there and 'cancelled' stuck up.
Worst driving weather I think I've experienced for a long time - all good fun - until I next change my tyres and see the inside of my wheels rusted where the flood water came in through the spokes.
Well your first mushy is obviously an Agaricus of some sort, but it's the second one that is really, really interesting.
I haven't a clue because I've never seen anything like it, so I'm very interested in what the others have to say.
You do have a habit of finding very unusual fungi Julie !!

| | | Re: BeechWood fungi.. Right, I've worked it out, - it's Agaricus porphyrizon (Phillips pg. 236) sliced, with a strawberry sauce drizzle, and very nice too. !!

| | | Re: BeechWood fungi.. Julie,
The way you wrote 'Thanx' makes me think you believed me
Although it's remotely possible it is an Agaricus sp. I'm still no closer to working out what you have there (photo's 2 & 3)
Sorry.
