Unidentified Woodland Fungi
I found these in woodland in suffolk and they looked so odd to me that I decided to try and find out what they were. Had no luck so I thought i'd ask the experts :-)

Maybe Coprinus plicatilis?

I'm NO fungi ID'er, At All, I had it ID'd myself last year.

Coprinus (Parasola) plicatilis is a very common "ink cap" but it is normally found in grassland. The lookalike found in woodland is Coprinus (Parasola) leiocephalus so I think that is probably what your find is.

I would agree with Jason, although the genus has now changed for this species to Parasola plicatilis.

By the way, what wood did you visit ?

The woods were Sluice Wood in Martlesham (Suffolk), not very large but very pretty
