Blackfoot Polypore? (ID please)

B-L woodland on limestone
Found this fungi growing on a fallen Ash tree









It had a blackfoot, just like a Polyporus leptocephalus, but not alike in colour.

cap 190mm dia rich dark brown colour.
stem only 25mm in length
small v strong, could be smelt 1mt away, rich sweet smell
v tough and hard to cut.
Changes colour on cutting, darkening from light tan to light brown
