| | | Re: Random fungi from Nine Ladies Might be Amanita fulva. Just a word of advice- If you want an ID from a photograph, take as much information from the scene as possible. These things will help the chances of you ascertaining an ID.
Size range of specimens
Smell of specimens
Taste of specimens (when confident enough to do so)
Substrate (What it was growing on- what trees were nearby)
Any colour changes when cut or bruised
Even with these all accurate and clear, you're in no way guaranteed an ID. Many species can only be distinguished microscopically, but that's another kettle of fish. In some cases, it's easily plausible to get an ID from a photograph alone, mainly with the more common specimens that don't appear atypically so much- There are some species which are just so unique that they are easily ID'd. On the other hand, perhaps 95% of fungi, aren't in that category.
