Purplish/Brownish Mushroom
Does anyone have any idea what this is. It was growing under rhododendron and elder.

It looks like the one on the right has a small ring.

Armillaria or Pholiota spring to mind, though probably wrongly. The scales on the cap and the ring are what made me think...

does look like Armillaria sp. to me too, one of the Honey Fungi.

I think this is probably Armillaria ostoyae what with having the reddish tints in the cap and the light, almost white stem.
