| | | Unknown from Anston Stones Anston Stones Wood - grassland 21 Sept 2008
Uncultivated grassland on limestone
Found several groups growing under silver birch trees, where many trees had been cleared, with stumps and roots remaining.
I did wonder if they are all immature and will develop further. I will check them out next weekend. Otherwise I can not find anything that looks remotely like these images.
25 - 50mm across 25mm high
Mushroomy smell
Your comments and observations welcomed

| | | Re: Unknown from Anston Stones Thanks Neil and JP for your suggestion.
I did consider this, but could not find any reference to a yellow base. I will have to keep an eye on it to see what develops.
If you would like some company, Neil, I would be pleased to show you around.
Les

| | | Re: Unknown from Anston Stones If I saw this I'd think it was Clavulina coralloides- it's not that grey, but I've never seen C. cinerea so I wouldn't know how much it varies. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
