Your fungus is the Giant Polypore - Meripilus giganteus

Had a feeling it might be, so it's bye bye beech tree, all 100-120 feet of it.

yeh. I think its giant polypore too. It surprising how variable it is. check out the Gallery on giant polypore and youll see what I mean!
