Hello!
I apologise profusely if this has been covered in a previous thread but I have only recently begun to get an interest in fungus so have not read too many of the fungus related threads - Its always seemed like too big and scarier a topic, but perhaps I am starting to feel brave enough!!

I think I saw some ceps in a front garden in Essex amongst some birch saplings..... could there be anything that is easily mistaken? I have a fungus id book, but its not that great!

Secondly, can anyone recommend to me (via PM perhaps) any good fungus sites in Cotswolds or Gloucesterhsire where I might go and learn a bit more perhaps meet good edibles? I remember collecting wood puffball mushrooms from amongst pine trees in the woods where I grew up but they didn't taste that brilliant.....

No sadly, but they looked right from where I was standing, the right shape and colour - almost went and knocked on the door to ask if I could have a closer look!
