Found a few of these growing in mixed woodland.
largest cap was 3cms across..no distinct smell..Milk stained hands a good claret colour ...
Help with an ID would be appreciated..

The only Milkcap I can track down whose milk stains red on exposure to the air is Lactarius salmonicolor but then again it starts off orange so that rules it out

perhaps the staining on our hands originated from elsewhere
