Please give me a genus!!!

I am baffled by this flippin' thing

Well, I managed to look at the spores

Can't get a size because my eyepiece micrometer isn't calibrated yet.

They look orange, elliptical, some are smooth, some minutely warted. Cheilocystidia are skittle shaped but the bottoms (The bit of the skittle that would usually touch the floor) aren't flat; They taper down to a point.

This smells heavily of chocolate. I'll just pop a bit of the cap under the scope to see if there's anything distinctive to report.



Anyone got a clue?

Nothing to report, just some weird fibre stuff on the cap

I forgot to say that these were in large troops on the floor of Beech Woodland, Calcareous soil. The large specimen here has a rough 30mm diameter.

Based on looks alone would say this is an Inocybe, however, spore print is usually described as Walnut-brown.
