best regards,

It would make my day if indeed it is Calocera glossoides. It was so unusual and although minute..it caught my eye because of the vivid colour and shape.
with best regards,

To make matters worse, there are quite a lot of records on the FRDBI - not sure if they have all been accepted though.
Neil.
P.S. Remember, 'mykonik' is none other than Nick Legon, an extremely experienced mycologist who used to work at Kew and compiled the British Fungi Checklist amongst loads of other stuff. | Hi Neil,
Many thanks for that...right, I've read the 'link' and the best thing I can do is to go back, try and get a sample and send it to Kew. So I'll do that....and try to avoid the goose that bit me today ... I have another fungus sample to send but growing that one on at the moment.
With best regards and once again, thanks for all your help,
Jean

Not in huge numbers but they tend to peak in February at this site so I'm a few weeks early.

| | | Re: Fungus of the day! Had a quick look at my 'regular' patch yesterday (actually only found for the first time last year) and there are just a few signs of red amongst the moss, about which I'm pretty chuffed.
Will post some pics in due course, but as yet they are smaller than your's Dave!

| | | Re: Fungus of the day! Yes, there seem to be a lot of Scarlets this year - although one of my banker patches has failed, many other willowy mossy spots have come good - arent they great:
Nice and frosty!

It took more than 10 years before I saw my first Scarlet Elf Cup.

Neil. | Began to get really interested last summer but there is a heck of a lot to learn and that's why I make awful mistakes at times !! As for my latest find I think I was just very lucky, I was on my way to find the area where I'd snapped the Bracket....not much luck there at the moment . I've updated my post re: trees found in the area.
Regards,
Jean
