I went on a 'birding' trip yesterday to Moore Nature Reserve near Warrington and couldn't help but notice the amount of fungi about (and not a lot of birds!) there were huge amounts of Fly Agaric but many half eaten, kicked or rain washed, however, find of the day was Grifolia frondosa - as Gracie reminded me later - better known as 'Hen of the Woods' - I have no pics but Gracie might be persuaded to post?

Pauline | Thanks Pauline, it's the first Eyelash Fungus I've found, there were a few different fungi about yesterday; Hydnellum Peckii at Uath Lochans, and Orange Peel Fungus near Loch Morlich were other highlights. There weren't many birds about, but a few Crested Tits and Goldcrest showed their faces. Quote:
