More Fungi for ID.

1. Lactarius sp, I'd say either L. rufus or L. hepaticus
2. Russula sp, not a clue
3. Lycoperdon perlatum
4. Leotia lubrica
5. Russula sp. Probably R. emetica
6. Not a clue, something old. Inocybe, Cortinarius or something?

Hi Ron !

Fungi are.............

1. Lactarius sp.

2. Lactarius sp. : one of the sect. Plinthogali - need looking at microscopically - the latex should turn carrot-pinkish when exposed to air.

3. Lycoperdon perlatum (young, thus not yet showing the characteristic scarring left when the spines fall off).

4. Leotia lubrica - an ascomycete, with a reasonable and descriptive English Name (even I give in sometimes !) - 'Jelly Babies'

5. Russula sp. : needs microscopy - I thought of Russula emetica but the habitat seems to be under coniferous trees - Picea or Abies, so I guess it might not be ! Thus see comment to the next one.....

6. Cortinarius sp. : needs microscopy (or better still throwing as far over ones shoulder as possible and pretending you never found it in the first place !! )

Come on Nick look closely at the last picture. Just cause you don't like Cortinarius don't just ignore the picture. Its like a bad day foraying if you look close enough you will find something

Thanks for the kind remark, but I have a few more " unidentified" to upload. I am waiting on Roger Phillips 'Mushrooms and other fungi of Great Britain and Europe' so hopefully I will improve my fungi knowledge
