| | | White Leccinum sp Hi there
Another find...on my father-in-law's front garden near a silver birch:
Is this a white form of Leccinum scabrum, and if so, how rare is it?

| | | Re: White Leccinum sp Not so much a white form, just a more pallid looking specimen. If you refer to Phillips if you have it, you'll see a photograph of Leccinum scabrum looking just like this. First thoughts upon seeing your title of the thread was Leccinum holopus, but the stem of your specimen is characteristic of L. scabrum |

Yes, I had seen the picture in Roger Phillips and it does look very similar to the one that we found....

Mal | I don't get it. Am I being dim or are you having another cryptic moment Mal? |

| | | Re: White Leccinum sp It could be cyaneobasileucum which can be found in a pale form. Cap starting pure white which may develop rust-coloured spotting. Does that sound right
