| | | My garden fungi This afternoon I went out into my garden and although I am not a fungi person usually I found myself photographing and counting how many fungi I could find in the garden only trouble is I dont know anything about them I found 12 different ones but these are the only ones worth posting. Im very curious now about them and whether they are poisonous or edible etc. The squirells eat some of them!

| | | Re: My garden fungi Hi Linda, good to see you getting interested by the fungi about!
As for your ID's;
1. Rickenella fibula
2. Possibly Laccaria laccata
3a. Russula sp. (Very difficult to ID down to species by photograph alone)
3b. See above
4. Rickenella fibula
5. Rickenella swartzii
6. Xerocomus sp.
7. Another Russula. Possibly R. cyanoxantha
Hope that helps and I hope this sets off an interest in fungi!
PS- I'd seriously forget edibility! Though some listed there are edible!

Nick | It could be Nick but with the cracked cap it might be Xerocomus repariellus. Nick (L) found one a couple of years ago so when he logs on he might tell us even though he hates boletes

Mal | Might be - but without seeing the inside of the stipe, somewhat difficult to be definitive ! Was it found in a wet area ??
I usually find BOLETUS ripariellus in wet areas, such as along the edges or sides of flooded wheel ruts in woodland !
