Peziza from Anston Stones (ID please)

Found a singleton growing in soil on muddy steep bank above stream.
(B-L woodland on limestone)

Cap 40mm
No stem
Smell slight
Stains yellow immediately on hanky

I thought it could be P. succosa, but it seems a very pale brown colour inside cup.

Hi

it states that P. succosa can be hazelnut to light brown and if the colour is questionable then the hanky is an adequate test .

You pipped me to the post Neil !

But then one also has to remove Peziza succosella from the equation ! It looks identical to P. succosa, and also has yellow juice when tested with the hanky test !! And the only way to do that is microscopy !
