| | Bitter boletus? & a tiny orange thing? first I found this little orange mushroom on sphagnam moss in a jungle of bracken on the moors - any ideas?
I found this boletus on Humphrey Head (limestone soil)
does anyone have any ideas?
I would upload a photo of the top but "the file is too big" |

| | | Re: Bitter boletus? & a tiny orange thing? If a picture file is to big, go to windows accessories and open paint, use this to open your photo and save as a jpg.
Hope this helps.

| | | Re: Bitter boletus? & a tiny orange thing? The network on the stipe is not as distinctive as I have seen but I think it is enough to make it Boletus luridus. if you had broken the tubes away from the cap it would have shown a dark red surface.

It looks to have bruised blue where it has been touched both on the stipe and pores which make it much more likely to be luridus |
