| | Lawn Funghi for ID help please These are three species growing on a friends lawn I photo'd last weekend, No1 and 3 smelled very similar, neither particularly pleasant but earthy with a sharp overtone.
1. The first photo of this species was taken 5 days before the rest and is probabaly less mature versions of the following four.
Apparently there was a mature Canadian Maple growing here about 15 years ago where these were growing.. these gave a black spore print (see bottom photo)
2. Growing in the same area as the ones above a bonus funghi, approx 180mm in the longest part..
3. These were growing in the same lawn under a Rowan tree, white spore print (see bottom photo)..
Spore prints, No1 Black, No2 White...
This is the same lawn as No7 from mid-July here Help to Identify Fungi , sadly I've not been able to get back until now so I guess looking at them these are all new, although they are growing in the same place, but we didn't come up with an ID then. Quote: |
No7 Dermoloma cuneifolium (severe doubts expressed) & Coprinellus disseminatus OR Psathyrella pygmaea
| Any help ID' ng these appreciated, especially as the lawn owner is very interested in them. |

Very interesting about the first one, perhaps I was mistaken, but I swear the ground was covered with just one species, and from what you say five days later it would appear to have been completely replaced by another species.. this shared lawn is turning out to be an absolute funghi hotspot!!!
Thanks for those ID's Nick, I shall toddle off and try to find some info for the house owner. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
