| | | Possible Ascotremella faginea Nick mentioned in the Gallery that this could well be Ascotremella faginea rather than Neobulgaria pura.
I did mention to Les at the time that it could possibly be the the less common variety, but has we were surrounded with many different species to look at and photograph I didn't put it in the bag ... another
If you return soon Les, it should be by the Ramaria stricta, just left of the Hymenoscyphus fructigenus and down from the Coprinus disseminatus
I think it may be a good species for Kew!

| | | Re: Possible Ascotremella faginea It does not look at all like Neobulgaria pura. At least not ones I have seen. But then again, if I had seen N. pura looking like that, I would have said "That doesn't look like N. pura.". If you see what I mean.
FWIW Ascotremella faginea is described in Jordan. |

I know what you mean, I should have said Neobulgaria pura var foliacea rather than the common 'Beech Jelly Disc' - Neobulgaria pura
Yes, Jordan illustrates a typical dried specimen ... very different to the 'normal wet' species.
Hopefully we can collect the sample for proper ID.
