When I think of the time and effort that the volunteer editors put in to create the original, which Stu moulded into a slick presentation, I could weep. I know many entries in the former version still needed completing but seeing the decimation of our work I have no further incentive to continue.

David | The indexing has been sorted in the past hour but alas much of the previously entered detail is still missing. |

| | | Re: Fungi A to Z Alerts Things are obviously halfway through being upgraded at the moment. Please give the guys a bit of time to complete the move and we'll hopefully soon have a much better fungi section and not just the watered down, pathetic shadow of it's former detailed glory

| | | Re: Fungi A to Z Alerts I was going to add a couple of species to the A-Z but the system doesn't seem to allow this now. Do I just upload to the Gallery and leave the mods to do the work?

The upgrade is still in progress and Stu is away at the moment. I'll update the thread when he returns ... If he comes back that is

Actually, I am getting very concerned about the whole 'Common name' scenario which is resulting in so many 'local' meaningless names. You only have to view the Gallery to see the ‘confusion’ it causes.
I would very much like to move away from them all together, using only names that everyone in the fungi / scientific community can understand.
Maybe it’s time for us to step up a gear!
