lawn fungus
Hi all new to site. Can someone please help on identifying a lawn 'growth'. No pics yet but description is as follows :- localised area in grass lawn. brown in colour and looks wet and slimy. Closest resemblance to form visually is a sea anemone stranded in rock pool . Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in anticipation

Not a chance without a photo... and even with a photo there's no guarantee.

From your description it might be a very rotten fungus, or it might not be fungal at all.
