Without having to use a a microscope, if you have any of the fruitbodies dry a cap off over a radiator or other dry heat (not too hot) source - if it goes a rather obvious yellowish colour its the latter, if it just dries as it is then the former ! Thats not an infallible test but usually works !

Is Rogers right in implying that pulmonarius is less tasty?  |

Is Rogers right in implying that pulmonarius is less tasty?  | To be honest Morchella, although I can see a slightly yellowish colour P. pulmonarius usually goes distinctly yellow - much more so than this.
So, probablem unsolved (or it was P. ostreatus as suspected originally !)
