| | | Unidentified ink cap fungus What a welcome sight - the first fungus I've seen at the Stony Stratford Nature Reserve in months. Well actually I saw two today (will be posting the other later). I'm sure it's a fairly common species, but it was a bit like unexpectedly meeting an old friend after an absence of several months.
Help with id appreciated.

| | | Re: Unidentified ink cap fungus Spot on Nick. Coprinopsis lagopus turns out to be not just a good match for this image but an even better match for the other fungus I mentioned, which is a group of (very different looking) very young and very hairy mushroom heads.
