Found single specimen growing on very well rotted trunk. Wood was turning to soil in middle where specimen was growing.
It was very dark, hence poor quality exposure of images.
Cap 18mm
Stem 50 x 1.5mm slightly swollen at base
Smell slight
Gills not brittle, stems snaps
No milk
I'm not going to try to guess this one

Initially I would have gone for an old Tubaria sp but these gills in the photo's are free, not 'adnate' so without getting stuck in, I can't say much more.

And I'm stumped with this one too !
[Slight pause, whilst Neil picks himself up off the floor !!!....]
It's distinctive looking, and appears to be in good condition Les, but it's not ringing any bells for me what so ever !! Even as to a genus !
