Sorry to be boring and show no photographs but since that rain earlier this week I have found the following. A close nit patch of quite large amanita rubescens munched by slugs. Another large old amanita which could be a
Panther Cap or similar. A fantastic group of Russulas which were darker green in the centre of the cap fading to lighter green near the edges. I assumed that this is the green version of the
Charcoal Burner but understand that all green russulas are edible. The largest was easily 15cms across and the stem was chunky and white almost 50mm in diameter. Unfortunately the slugs beat me to it or I would have tried a little nibble and then perhaps a fry up. Last but not least the chanterelle are just poking their heads up to test the weather. They seem to wait at this stage sometimes indefinately before going for it.
