| | | Re: Amanita today Hi JP,
I've had A. fulva, A. rubescens and A. spissa on Hampstead Heath over the past week, so certainly on the move.
The middle species looks like Collybia dryophila to me.

| | | Re: Amanita today Was going to suggest Collybia for the second. Are the third Hygrocybe? Look more 'Rickinella-ish/Galerina-esque' |

Cheers J.P. | Hi JP !
1 & 2 surely Amanita rubescens ! Can and does appear very early in the year !
3 Collybia sp. probably C. dryophila (but just possibly C. aquosa - microscopy needed !)
4. Galerina sp. Usually impossible even with microscopy !

| | | Re: Amanita today Thanks all, the book was beside me open at galerina (then i wish i'd found a Slime Mould) . Think it's going to be down to spore length and some gesswork. Anyway it was nice to see something different, the dung fungi are just more of the same, plenty of fairy rings and of course another barrow full of Laetiporus sulphuraeus this time on oak.

Nick | Spores colour, shape and size were right for Collybia dryophila. Haven't changed the label on image, will wait for better one.
Cheers J.p.
