| | Help needed for Grinding Fungi Hello.... yesterday I was amazed to see a mushroom in my garden, totally out of curiosity I googled it the specifications and was shocked to know the mushroom was edible . Now I need powder the mushroom because it cannot be consumed as its woody in nature. BTW the mushroom is Ganoderma Lucidium. Please provide me with the proper method to grind it.....
I am waiting to taste it.:P
Thank You.! |

| | | Re: Help needed for Grinding Fungi This attractive fungus is not 'edible' but medicinal, apparently having anti-cancerous properties and is much used in China.
Research is taking place in other countries to see if this really is a 'wonder cure', but as for grinding it up for consumption, why not nip into your local sawmill and lick the sawdust off the machinery i.e. forget it !!

| | | Re: Help needed for Grinding Fungi Well, the most logical way would be to dry it and then just crush them with a rolling pin. Once dry, they're brittle and they just flake so you can crush them easily. If you're after some culinary fungi, there's loads of St. George's around at the mo! Would make more sense |

please.. | I do wonder for what reason you have posted this thread.
You say you have googled the fungus, so why have you not done the same re 'grinding fungi'
For our knowledge you may wish to tell us something about yourself and explain further

| | | Re: Help needed for Grinding Fungi I've been worrying about this post all day Mr/Mrs ILoveFungi.
Could it be that you have been diagnosed with cancer or maybe you are worried of developing cancer and are desperate to try anything?
If that is the case, this is not the way to go about doing things, your Doctor is the person to talk to about these matters. By the way you composed your thread, I've a feeling you are maybe a foreign national and might have difficulty getting a doctor - if that is true, then there is the Citizens Advice Bureaux you can try, it's free to everyone.
Finally, wherever it said on Google that this fungus is edible, remember, anybody can write anything on the web - there are a lot of people out there who like to sound like they know everything - including myself at times !
So just be careful.
