Unknown Fungi from Sherwood for ID please

Sherwood Forest (3 May 2008)

This specimen was found in grass field which had willows(?) planted as if for power station fuel (close and in rows), but these trees were recent plantings, so I'm not certain if they had a relationship with the fungi.











Cap dia 50mm
Stem 60mm x 8mm
Substrate soil
The stem breaks/snaps easily
Gills not brittle
Cap falls apart on handling
No milk on cutting

Hi Les,

This is some kind of Inocybe sp. and thats as far as this identification will ever go - they are critical species that can only really be convincingly identified using microscopy.
