| | | Re: unknown lichen You don't tell us much, so this is just a wild guess - Amandinia punctata.
A simple chemical test you could try is to add a tiny drop of un-scented domestic bleach. If there is no change of colour to red or orange (which quickly fades away) then it narrows down this species.
Lichens are not really my field of expertise, but I hope this is of help.

| | | Re: unknown lichen I haven't checked but I think Amandinia punctata is a species that mainly grows on wood. Porpidia springs to mind, maybe Porpidia macrocarpa, but there isn't a lot to go on and I'm just dashing out for the evening, so that's my best shot.

| | | Re: unknown lichen Sorry. It's on an Ash trunk in Ashford, southwest London. Quite common on all the Ash trees in the area.
