| | | Fungi Lost Property Office. Found this spectacular image hiding amongst my fungi images in the Gallery
Would the owner like to reclaim it, free of any storage charge
(I suspect from the style and quality it may be one of FungiJohn's)

I'll have it if no-one wants it
That reminds me, I've got one in my gallery

You have to click the blue '?' to make the image appear. It's all stretched out of format

If nick C is collecting images he can have this suprisingly high quality photo if he tells me what it is, (taken today).

| | | Re: Fungi Lost Property Office. Right, that's it FJ, I've had it up to here I'm going to need someone to feel as bad as me about not finding things so I'm going to the Morel thread and clicking refresh every second until it hits 6,000 Then me and Mal can team up, go halves on a torch and a pitchfork.

| | | Re: Fungi Lost Property Office. Steady young nick C, you can collect these tommorw if you wish, and bring a wheel barrow for Calocybe gambosa, just imagine the balance of flavours.
Or else you could count the average number of Peziza.sp on a cow pat, the occurence of these seems nothing short of remarkable!
As a perhaps curious aside, there are a good number of troops of C.gambosa, the odd thing is that like those collected by cybershot a few weeks ago, they are all sheltering under gorse, so anyone who only collected here would think that this was a significant corellation when of course we now better!

| | | Re: Fungi Lost Property Office. Hi People,
I notice a photo appeared at the beginning of this thread which was named as Boletus chrysenteron (the one where you had to click a blue question mark) and nobody has said anything about it's mis-identification, so I will.
It is most likely Pholiota adiposa or aurivella, both very sticky and both grow on Beech , which this log is. I don't know the current status of the two sp, they may have been grouped together by now.
Neil.
P.S. I see I have 2 PMs, please bear with me while I try to retrieve them, prob' in the morning ! |

| | | Re: Fungi Lost Property Office. Hiya Neil,
I think you'll find that it was an image of Boletus chrysenteron that I took last year but the thumbnail has been replaced by the image of the, what I think to be Pholiota. That's why I posted it in lost property to see who could claim it! Hope that clears up your confusion mate!

Cheers J.P. | I was just going to say that it looked on my screen like it had pink gills and hence pink spores... and then I scrolled down and saw that Mykonik had already suggested Pluteus.
