Missing thumbnails

I have noticed one or two photos I have loaded to the A-Z have lost their thumbnail The photos are still there
Have they been rejected or is there another problem

Re: Missing thumbnails

Before the recent advent of the supplementary images the photos were probably originally uploaded to the Facts box which now equates to Second Image. The index thumbnail is now linked to the large Main Image so some gaps are inevitable, but Richard and I are doing our best to restore them, but it's not always a straight forward exercise. Bear with us please

Re: Missing thumbnails

Choiromyces meandriformis
Entoloma chalybaeum
Hebeloma radicosum
Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca var pallida
plus others but I noticed some species in the same state (not mine) with no thumbnail but the main photo still intact.

Despite extensive searches by 'species' and 'username' of both main Gallery and Archive, and in numerous categories, I only managed to find the original upload of Hebeloma radicosum. If someone else has more success please supply the links to flaxton's mislaid images. Many thanks.

David

The Revisions in the A to Z show that the entries were created by flaxton in Feb/Mar this year and I am guessing the images may have been uploaded direct from his PC.

Thanks for trying mate. I guess the ball's back in flaxton's court. The only way I can effect a Main Image upload is to copy the Second Image and increase the size and tweak it, but that's far from ideal.

Cheers
David

That's right I had trouble transferring one of my first images from the main gallery so all the rest came direct from my PC
What do I need to do

No problem Mal. Just go into each entry and 'Edit' to upload again to Main Image. You can delete the identical Second Image too if you so wish.

Cheers

It's looking good on completion Mal - some day we will eventually get these and all other entries padded out with the relevant information.

I am working from X backwards but but have not managed to fill all the missing main images as finding the higher resolution images is not easy. Sometimes I have to find am alternative.

eg the main image for Russula claroflava is missing and I can't find it in the gallery. Might be one of yours David?

I am working through the Ps at the moment. Other images that I cannot find so far are Trametes ochracea, Stereum ostrea, Panaeolus acuminatus and Panaeolus papilionaceus.

It certainly is Richard; lurking in the Forum Images of the Archive heavily disguised as 'russulaclaroflavacrw_2837'. My apologies

I don't know if this is relevant but Stereum ostrea photograph was definitely there - I know since I commented that it was mis-diagnosed !! [S. ostrea is certainly NOT native British !!]

Re: Missing thumbnails

I could hold the key to some of these I'll move the images Nick kindly identified earlier to the main gallery this weekend.

I detect the problem is that images picked up and loaded to the A to Z from the Archive (Unidentified Fungi and Forum Image subsequently validated my such as mykonik) and which have disappeared during the recent upgrade, are proving very difficult to re-trace. So John's transfers will be very useful. Thanks mate.

Richard has completed a trawl of Z to M and I have completed A to L, so, where possible, all Main Images have been re-instated and consequently the Index thumbnails are restored.

David
