A group of us found several of these on the edge of Cambridgeshire yesterday. The first time I have seen it. Used to be called Sclerotinia tuberosa, now apparently Dumontinia tuberosa. Grows in association with Wood Anemones.

I am very jealous. I have never found it myself.
I hunted around Sunbank Wood near Manchester Airport this afternoon while walking the dog. Lots of Wood Anemone but no sign of any accompanying fungus. 
And not much else in the way of fungi, but lots of beautiful Spring flowers and ferns just beginning to uncurl.

Very nice !
Every spring I have searched every available patch of Wood Anemones in the world (or it feels like it !!) and have only found this once in 44 years  - and that was only by accident ! So well found !

Found this April 2006 snippet on a website which covers my local area:
" Sclerotinia tuberosa
Once again at Bourley,
Some 750 or more,on the bank of the southern most one of the double
reservoir.
if you find the last fisherman's seat you are looking at them.
have fun"
Guess I'd better go check it out. Watch this space

I am not going to rise to the bait 
Although I did try to keep to the fairways I couldn't even find morels or Sclerotinia tuberosa for that matter in the glorious woods in Orleans in France. So it is back to my usual haunts tomorrow just in case

Found the the seat.......
Found the Anemones.....
Found the rain.............
Didn't find any Sclerotinia tuberosa
