Morel beginnings

I joined the Leicester Fungi Study Group this year and went on their first foray of the year earlier today.

Just one Mitophora semilibera but one is better than none!

Now here is one species I have yet to find A lovely find and image too

Good picture. FYI I found Verpa conica on clay soil in the Beeston nature reserve south of Nottingham.

I think it's called Beeston Sidings Nature Reserve now, I have not been for many moths even though it is closeby. I think I will pop over from work one luchtime,

You are obviously interested in butterflies but if you are going to start talking about moths you need to be on a different forum.

It's well worth a visit. I once saw a swimming otter a few metres from me, and St. Georges Mushroom was common place. Oooh, and now I remember, I collected some Morchella esculenta, on an old fire site. That was 15 years ago, and I'd forgotten! That makes 5 sites I know!

Not keen on trying to id moths - too complicated for me
