| | | WAB Clumber Fungi Foray 2008 FungiJohn has very kindly offered to host another WAB foray in the species rich venue of Clumber Park, near Worksop, Notts and suggested using the facilities of The Basecamp at Clumber over a weekend during October. National Trust | Basecamp details
Would all interested members please indicate which weekend(s) would suit them.
I will start the ball rolling:
Cybershot - any weekend other than the 18/19th
NickCantle - any weekend other than the 18/19th
David

Michael J | Thanks for the reminder Michael.
Given the right weather conditions, it could be a very interesting season indeed. In fact, I'm off there now

David | Which could poss mean that the place has been 'picked out'? and will need time to recover.......
Thanks David for this thread - I had already caught up tonight with the ongoing Morel tale (and had a good laugh!) and finished off by saying the only time I am free would be our one weekend in 7 off which falls 4 and 5th Oct which might be too soon now after a week long rampage and gather by others but its the only time I can do so I'm just praying..........

Pauline | I wouldn't worry about any week long rampage Pauline. It's big enough to cope Anyway, they don't know the place like I do |

Pete | I can't see where you're looking so I couldn't say for sure. Perhaps if you post a photo we could identify it for you. Of course we would need a detailed description as well...
Ken
PS Yes it really was a post from Michael Jordan. Are you in awe of him, or something? |

Pauline | I couldn't do the Saturday (4th Oct), because I am running a mushroom ID training day for the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. I could probably come over for the Sunday, if it happens that weekend.

| | | Re: WAB Clumber Fungi Foray 2008 I understand Nick has exerted some gentle persuasion upon Mal (Flaxton) and it would seem that so far the w/e of 4 /5 October would suit the following members:
Fungi John (Hosting)
PMG
NickCantle
Cybershot
Fungus Ken (Sunday)
Flaxton (?)
Any more takers?

think I might be tempted on this one. I usually spend some time over there in season so it might be nice to put some real people to the WAB names

| | | Re: WAB Clumber Fungi Foray 2008 We ought to specify a rendezvous and timings for those local and not over-nighting, or like Ken tempted to pop along for just one of the days. I'll leave that to FJ to suggest details.
Glad to see Neil is interested

Pauline | That's great news Pauline and it's hoped this latest flourish of activity in the thread nearer the date will encourage a few more. As the Clumber Base camp sleeps 12 and at this moment in time there are only 4 prospective users sharing the cost of the hire (ie £50 each for 2 nights) so I have made a tentative on-line enquiry about availability.
