| | | Re: WAB Clumber Fungi Foray 2008 Nick, going halves sounds like a good idea for me but I'm worried that you won't get any sleep due to my ridiculously loud snoring. Seriously, it's bad enough that I've seen my GP about it but there wasn't anything he could offer (except drink less wine - yeah right, like that's gonna happen! ). Pauline mentioned a nasal spray that might be effective and I shall ask her for more details when we meet.
My wife copes by a combination of physical violence and kipping in the spare room. Only the first of those options would be open to you...

Have you tried the travelodge on the A57 near Worksop.. it's only about 10 mins for Clumber |

Dave P. | Just nip into your local big chemist and ask for a 'Stop Snoring Spray' - its expensive - I think I paid £12 for a small bottle - but it works and when you are cooped up with a snorer in a confined space then its worth it! No-one snores louder than my mum in law - absolutely no-one - and it works on her all night every night when we take her away with us......

| | | Re: WAB Clumber Fungi Foray 2008 Have a safe journey Nick!
I'll be driving up on Saturday morning and aiming to arrive about 9am, ready for the 9:30 start. My sat nav only takes postcodes, not grid refs, but I've worked out that the nearest postcode is S80 3BB in case anyone else might find it useful.
I used to visit Sheffield a lot for work and my favourite route was up the A1 to Sherwood Forest then cut across the A57. I used to see signs to Clumber Park so I'll follow that route to start with and then let the sat nav take over (left to it's own devices it'll send me up the M1).
The forecast is not looking too brilliant for the weekend but such is life. A little rain will make the fungi all clean and shiny!

I'll see you there guys and girls | Would love to have been joining you and the rest of the Fungi Wabbers but it's not to be this year, so have a good weekend and I'll make sure I'm as fit a fiddle for the River Cottage adventure with John Wright in a fortnight's time.
Regards to one and all, and enjoy the delights of Clumber that FJ is gearing up to show you all.

David | Aye its a shame you're not quite well enough yet to take the journey on and all the bending etc - you will be missed Glad you're recovering nicely tho
Yesterday after my third consecutive wetting at work litterpicking in the vile weather I said I was not going thro my front door this weekend........... having calmed down and dried off plus not getting wet this morning (only cos I dodged it - not cos it was dry - anything but!) I am now back on track for our visit to Clumber
We hope to be there by 9am to give us time to have a brew, get our outdoor gear on, visit the loo (if there is a loo?) find some cover if there isn't!!! I;m looking forward to seeing a few different things - there was nothing at all in the Trough of Bowland last Sunday - dry as a bone and not a fungi to be seen anywhere - absolute null and void..........
Safe journeys to everyone travelling - see you all soon..........

| | | Re: WAB Clumber Fungi Foray 2008 Hello all
I've not been on much this week due to 'man flu' but I will be fine for the weekend
No worries David, the fungi will still be there for next time!
Milk, no sugar for me Pauline and there's toilets behind the conservation centre and around the main shops, cafe's etc.
As for the fungi ... well, there are one or two showing through
It should be a very good weekend!
Enjoy!

Good luck all I will be thinking of you and waiting expectantly for all the photos. There is someone going who can take decent photos I assume

Have a great time everybody.

He sounds quite excited over something
I’m really looking forward to meeting other WAB members tomorrow. Despite what the weather will do I can guarantee a good fungi weekend.
If anyone still wishes to come along, you are most welcome.
Look out for the odd one or two images during the following week

John | I expect he's packed his magnifying glass and can't wait to get near those northern bunny currants
Have yourselves a good time (look forward to the photo's).
