I'm still planning to come over to Clumber on the 5th, so we just need to agreed a time and place.

I suspect at the height of the foraying season most groups will have something programmed so it's fanatastic to hear you opt for WAB.
Ken has just confirmed his attendance on the Sunday so we are starting to assemble a seriously clued up team to help us (where's mykonik? ).
So far:
John (Hosting)
PMG + 1 (Clumber Base Camp)
Nick Cantle (Clumber Base Camp tbc)
David (Clumber Base Camp)
Neil (Daily attendance Sat and Sun)
Rich (Daily attendance Sat and Sun)
Ken (Daily attendance Sunday)
Mal (rumoured to be interested via NC but no response to PM as yet)
Have asked FJ (# 18 above) to let us know a suitable rendezvous and start time for each day.
David

And of course you'll have had all Saturday evening to key them out and come up with a name for everything.

Ken | Shno problem Hic! Tho' it might cause a stir in the bar of the local with fungi specimens all over the table. Might even persuade the chef to saute a few choice edibles

| | | Re: WAB Clumber Fungi Foray 2008 The Base Camp is situated a short distance from the conservation centre where we can display our jewels It is also a good place to start from.
I quite often start about 5.30am but would be happy to wait until 8 am if that's too early
If people send me their email address I'll email some maps and other info.

I am giving a fungi talk on the Saturday and had a full days foray organized for the Sunday but I would love to come and meet other WAB members. I will try and reorganize my schedule.

If for any reason the date should be pushed forward (backwards? ) then I will definitely be there. Sounds like it would be brill. Looks like I'll be the only girl though! lol! |

| | | Re: WAB Clumber Fungi Foray 2008 Can I suggest meeting at the Conservation Centre in Clumber Park at 9.15am - 9.30am on both days.
I'll email maps and suggested routes/times nearer the event.
The routes should help if anyone is late, although I do hope to have some volunteers hang back at the centre ... just in case I will also aim to get back to the centre for lunch time ... 30 minutes max and then off again
I am really looking forward to seeing you all.

John | Glad to see you revised the timings for the sake of those traveling on the day. It's all shaping nicely tho' no word from Clumber about availability of the Base Camp (I'll give them a call tomorrow)

David | That number got me through to the same person (Liz) who passed my message on to Lynne yesterday. Roy is out of the office so I am now waiting again for Lynne to phone me back.

Regarding the proposed Foray at Clumber , I've recently noticed things are moving nearer and I think I can help with a few points:
The telephone number you have for Roy from the trust web site ie.01909 476592 is not actually a direct line to him but it is the nearest you can get.Liz is on reception and Lynne is the Estate secretary. It is therefore likely to be Lynne who speaks to him, either by radio on the park or if he pops in.If he's busy with a voluntary group it will not be immediate.
You might also wish to note that if the Base Camp is available it consists of four bedrooms in the form of two pairs. You can only access the second one by walking through the first, if that makes sense!
This might not suit everyone..there is a Travel Lodge at Worksop which is only about 5 miles away.
Incidentally I would not recommend the Pubs at Worksop. There is the aptly named Clumber Hotel just outside the Park ( nothing to do with the Trust)
rather smart though if you whiff of Stinkhorns!
At the other side of the Park about 5 miles away is the Greendale Oak Public house at which also does B+B.
The Conservation Center is being used by another group on the Saturday but will be available to leave fungi etc in after about 4.30pm . It will be available on the Sunday.
Hope this clears up a few things.
Looking foward to the 4th and hopefully putting faces to names.
Best Wishes.
Vicky.

I can understand your frustration. If wardens are out working with a group, then reaching them is sometimes difficult..radio coverage can be spasmodic.
Hopefully Lynne will chase him up so he can check availability quickly. It would be a shame to fall at this hurdle.
Best Wishes
