I hope in setting a precedent I don't cause him too much embarrassment, but I would like to extend a warm welcome to Nick who, in his time as a Kew based mycologist and senior editor of the Checklist of British and Irish Basidiomycota, will no doubt bring a wealth of invaluable experience to the fungi section of WAB.

David | Oh ah, we got a be careful now, he might remember me, i suspect this sounds like the nik who tutored my first fungi course.
He's very approachable, sure knows his stuff and we had some laughs.

Yes, you can tell Nick's the real deal because I've already seen a few comments along the lines of "I can identify the genus but not the species without microscopic details."
