| | | St Georges Someone, in north Hampshire and on another forum, has recently found St Georges mushrooms. Keep a look out! |

| | | Re: St Georges Hello Stewy, yes, last season was very poor for St George's here too. I found about a dozen in mid-April and that was it. At lunchtime today I checked a known patch and nothing. It will be cold over Easter (hard frosts and even snow) so anything that does pop up will be frozen solid. Still, nothing like a bit of 'cold shock' to get mushrooms going! |

| | | Re: St Georges When I read this thread I just popped out to the usual spot in my garden and, yes, lots of them! Maybe they should change the name to St Patricks?
Got violets, primroses, bluebells, forget-me-nots too. What is going on with this weather?

They are exactly the same (and in exactly the same place) as those on my web site which I photographed a couple of years ago. (See St George's Day Mushroom - Calocybe gambosa)

I have identified more than 60 different types of fungus in the garden but I have to admit that I have given up trying to id the Russulas and the little nondescript white/beige ones! Quote:
