| | | 'Shrooming in Hampshire The official 2008 Foraying Programme of 'Shrooms, fungus group of NE Hampshire (ABFG), starts this month with a sejourn to the New Forest. Any one wishing to join in this activity or any other in the forthcoming diary of events should contact the group leader, Julie Campbell (aka singingjulie here on WAB: http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/fo...gingjulie.html ) or watch this space!
If Hampshire is too far afield for your convenience there are many other similar groups around the UK which can be found through the ABFG website: Association of British Fungus Groups You know it makes sense!

David | Clumber Park has a 'Base Camp' within the Park which would be ideal for a long weekend provided there were enough people interested. National Trust | Basecamp details
If it was to happen we would really have to set some dates soon as the camp is quite popular with groups.
I can certainly promise some good fungi areas even though I haven't found Arrhenia chlorocyanea ... Yet
It would be great |

David | Great news David. It would be good to see you, Nick and anyone else.
I'll check some dates when I'm at Clumber this weekend. I might also start a sticky thread for info if more are interested.

| | | Re: 'Shrooming in Hampshire I have no doubt he will be scouring Norfolk for Morels over Easter, and then become enamoured by those saucy continental 'shrooms while on a photographic project before returning to Farnham in April.
The sticky is a great idea as I've no doubt more WAB members are interested in this venture to Clumber (and/or Longshaws).

| | | Re: 'Shrooming in Hampshire I'll write something up this evening when I return home.
I'd be happy also to set something up for Longshaw. Which reminds me!! I'll also post the dates for the longshaw forays and my own fungi photography event in the waxcap laden meadow |

David | It has been decided that Sunday, 23rd March 2008 is the date, which unfortunately is not conducive for this grandfather who will more probably be foraying for chocolate eggs in Windsor Great Park with Ellen and William on that day. However the message from Julie is: "We'll be meeting up at 10:30am at Whitley Wood - grid reference SU 297 055 - there is a car park on the right hand side (southbound) just off the A337 and we'll meet in there"
Good hunting!
