| | | Unidentified Coral Have a go over this one. What do you reckon? I can't remember what I labeled it in my iPhoto library, but it's humorous to say the least and definitely resonates to me how much I have learnt with the help of the WAB fungi family. I thought it might be Ramaria stricta but I'm never sure. Not too much coral experience.
All help appreciated. Let's discuss
Nick

Could this be Lepista sordida or am I in the wrong sort of territory?

Nick | Methinks one of us has consumed too much alcohol... and I'm not ruling out the possibility that it is me.
It would be hard, even for a beginner, to mistake one of the coral fungi for a mushroom. And to mistake yellowy-green for purple.
Or am I missing something here?

| | | Re: Unidentified Coral I would not want to id that from the photo, but I don;t think it is Ramaria stricta. The colours are too yellow green. (Could be the camera settings and light though.) I would suggest Ramaria ochraceovirens (assuming I have spelt that correctly) as the appearance and habitat are right and it is not uncommon. In fact the greening tips makes me sure that is the id. |

| | | Re: Unidentified Coral Cheers for the steer Leif. The only thing I'd have to say about that, is the discolouration was because the specimen was starting to wilt, if that is accepted in fungi terminology. Here's another similar specimen, but I would say that this was found at a different location on a different occasion.

Using a photo of a specimen found on a different day in a different location to help identify a "wilting" fruit body is a bit of a risky strategy
