Red fungus
Found this rather distinctive fungus in a beechwood in hampshire yesterday, looks a bit like scarlet elfcap but I wasn't 100% sure

Have we any indication of size here? That's certainly the correct colour. The inside, that distinctive scarlet. Was it growing on dead wood? If it was, I'd hazard a guess at Scarlet Elfcup, but I'd wait for the pros.

Always pays to look at what else is in the shot. Here the leaves give a good indication of size. In this case it is clearly a decent size for a cup fungus.
