Found this fungi back in September last yr..
Cap measured 5-6cms across..
Please confirm on a ID please..

No doubt in my mind that it is an Agaricus Sp. There appears to be a hint of yellow staining at the base, the base is slightly bulbous and the ring is quite thick. Given these features I will stick my neck out and say it could be Yellow Stainer - Agaricus xanthodermus.

Gerry | Thanx for the pointer ...Been looking around and noticed that the Yellow Stainer - Agaricus xanthodermux did not show the same splitting cap characteristics as the one im my photo...can you help with out with this..

The splitting of the cap may just be an artefact caused by the weather conditions.
I wouldn't disagree with Gerry but he's a braver man than me trying to put a name to an Agaricus based on just a photo. I need a lot more information before I can begin to narrow them down.

I don't seem to see enough specimens of Agaricus to be able to build up any confidence in identifying them. I usually have to start from scratch whenever I find one.
I'm even impressed when people confidently identify field mushrooms at first glance. It always takes me a good while to convince myself it is this species and not something else.
