Help reqd. to identify brown cup/disc fungus

Salcey Forest, Northants 21st Dec. Growing on top of fallen log (probably oak).

Size of largest disc is approximately 12mm.

Any help appreciated.

One candidate is Rutstoemia firma, which grows on Oak branches. The size, shape, colour, season (Autumn and early WInter) and (presumed) habitat are right. I have found it a few times but it is not common.

I cannot think of any alternatives, though there may be some.

Thanks Leif. I've Googled several websites and images on your suggestion and agree that it looks a very close fit visually and on size, habitat and season.

Apparently the common name for Rutstroemia firma is Brown Cap Fungus.

ps - my assumption that the fungus is growing on fallen oak is based on the fact that the vast majority of the trees in that part of the forest are oak.
