Hi, I've noticed several large bracket fungi that I'm pretty sure are species of 'Ganoderma' (no picture sorry) they are on a lime tree and I would like to know which one it's most likely to be or which ones can be rulled out. thanks. |

As Pauline said even with a picture it is often difficult to come up with an id. What I would suggest is that you try the A-Z and see if any photos in there are similar to yours or go a Google on Ganoderma pictures and from there you will find the most likely suspects.

Thank you both for your replies and advice, as I say I'm pretty sure that it's a Ganoderma, poss G. applanatum. I have done some research on this but have been so far unable to find any referance of a particular species with a particular preference or specific association with lime trees or maybe some that have never been known to be found on lime that I could safely eliminate. | | |
